Bread and Pastry

The Bread and Pastry Strand at Mariners’ Polytechnic Colleges, Inc. provides students with practical training in the art of baking and pastry production. This strand is designed for learners who are passionate about culinary arts and aspire to pursue careers in bakeries, hotels, restaurants, or their own food businesses. Students gain hands-on experience in preparing, decorating, and presenting baked goods, while also learning food safety and entrepreneurial skills. The program prepares graduates with competencies that can lead to certification and employment in the food service industry or further studies in culinary and hospitality courses.

Educational Objectives

  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in bread and pastry production
  • Apply food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices in the kitchen
  • Prepare, bake, and decorate a variety of breads, cakes, and pastries
  • Develop creativity in designing and presenting baked products
  • Operate baking tools, equipment, and technology safely and efficiently
  • Apply entrepreneurial skills in managing small food businesses
  • Work effectively in teams within food service and culinary settings
  • Prepare for national certification (TESDA NC II) in Bread and Pastry Production
  • Pursue further education or employment in the culinary and hospitality industry
