The Cookery Strand at Mariners’ Polytechnic Colleges, Inc. equips students with the fundamental skills and knowledge needed in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations. This strand is ideal for learners who wish to pursue careers in the culinary industry, hospitality sector, or start their own food businesses. Through hands-on training, students will learn various cooking methods, menu planning, food safety practices, and kitchen management. Graduates of this strand are prepared for national certification and employment opportunities in restaurants, hotels, catering, and other food service establishments.

Educational Objectives

  • Demonstrate fundamental knowledge and skills in cookery and food preparation
  • Apply food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in the kitchen
  • Practice various cooking methods and techniques in preparing different cuisines
  • Plan, prepare, and present menus for diverse settings and occasions
  • Operate and maintain kitchen tools, utensils, and equipment effectively
  • Apply entrepreneurial skills in managing small-scale food businesses

  • Qualify for national certification (TESDA NC II in Cookery)
